The last month of fall rose with the sun this morning. November first. 11/1/11. Yesterday marked the third week of our stay in Virginia so far. To be honest, a first I wasn't so thrilled with the idea of leaving home for awhile. I was loving every minute of life back in Kansas. But life here is lovely too. Sure, it took a little bit of getting adjusted to, yet it's fun experiencing new things.
During first weeks here, the days that past seemed too mundane. I was used to running at a fast pace and having a to-do list stacked to the ceiling. But, here, I've had more time do things like focus on devotions. I'm taking this challenge; memorizing one Bible verse a day. I worked on Philippians 4:13 today.
Sometimes when you're not rushing so fast, you learn to appreciate the little things more. Like eating lunch on the porch, pen-pal letters, new followers, reading a book to Little sis. It makes you even more thankful for things than you were before. I'm also doing this little challenge here. You write down seven things every day that you are thankful for.

shirt, target // jeans, gap // boots, old navy // leg warmers, target // earrings, cato
I kind of wore leg warmers today. I was kind of excited ;) Today I started reading The Magician's Nephew by C.S. Lewis. See, sometimes it's the simple things that make life sweet.
What are you thankful for? Happy November!
