.

well, as you can see, it snowed in march. i know, that i, at first, was thinking "noooooo it's supposed to be springgggggg." ha. on the bright side, though, it was the most beautiful snowfall of this winter (in my opinion)...even if it was in march.

other things as of late...

-reading mere christianity by c.s. lewis. SO GOOD.

-inadvertently teaching charlotte to say "oh my goodness" and put her had over her mouth in surprise.

-trying to hunker down and read some more. still on the first part of the two towers by tolkien, but making progress

-getting a calligraphy pen and ink! it's a long time dream of mine come true, you guys. you can see the ones i've instagramed here and here.

-dreaming about what to put on my gallery wall

-getting! seeds! for! the! garden! we went to the store with my grandpa and picked out seed potatoes and packets of vegetables and herbs to get started. yay! yay! yay!

-watching bbc north & south on netflix. oh my, it's good. now i really really really want to read the book.

that's about all for now. xo.

things to do

things to do when it's winter and it's cold and you're tired of it:

- not waste time reading books that don't intrest you (even if you're in the middle of a series).

- play UNO with a sister who always wants to.

- do school and do it well. you'll be happy you did when summer comes around.

- drink a lot of tea and hot chocolate and coffee.

- drag yourself out of bed even when the sky looks as gray as it did yesterday.

- start a new journal (even though you have enough journals to keep up with already).

- buy yourself some watercolors and paint a picture.

- read books you've always wanted to.

- clean your room and fold your clothes.

- look forward to spring.

snow. also, the truth.

Snow pictures...because it's pretty...and I'm sure you haven't EVER seen pictures of snow lately...and I had to stand in a really deep snow drift to take them, so I thought I should post them. ;)

confession: i'm really slow at replying to emails. this is an apology for the past and future.

confession: i really want to go to paris and pintrest isn't helping that. instead, i'll just bake, i guess.

confession: i have two overdue library books that i haven't even started reading yet. oops. i got distracted by LOTR?

confession: the internet scares me, which is an intresting (unfortunate? healthy?) thing for a blogger to fear.

confession: i can't decide if my dream house is in europe with a balcony overlooking a little street and cafe, or a cabin in the country. i'd probably go with cabin, though, by and by. yay wide open spaces.

confession: i finally changed by facebook profile picture after seven months.

confession: i really want to be a tea person, but coffee always always wins.

confession: what is twitter and why.

confession: i forget to wear socks in the winter.

confession: i finally painted for the other day for the first time in months and months.

confession: i complain about the cold and wish for the summer now. but i will say vise versa when it's hot, wishing for cooler months.

The End.

like how the summer feels upon your skin

I wondered if I wanted to make a summer list this year. I mean, I make a to-do list every day of my life. But here it is, a more relaxed, little collection of things I'd like to do this summer.

Write something and finish it (even if it's only two pages long)

Get a lot of books from the library (and read them hungrily like I used to)

Sleep on the trampoline (Addy has been wanting to have a camp-out on the trampoline for awhile now)

Make more thankful lists (Pretty much this means to write down more things at the end of the day or week, in my journal, that I'm thankful for)

Do a photoshoot by that ivy-covered wall (It's just so pretty-looking)

Start my new journal (First unruled moleskine)

Stay off the internet/computer/ipod for a day (This needs to happen)

Lay a quilt on the yard and read (Doesn't that sound wonderful?)

Finish the Hobbit (So close to being done with it)

Fill my sketchbook (Awhile back I got a little blank book for sketches, but haven't filled it very faithfully, this summer I want to put lots in it)

.......

What's on your summer list? xo.

ps Post inspiration here. Post title, this song.
