5 on 5: december

December's 5 on 5 is here! The last 5 on 5 of the year. To be honest...part of me is like yahoooooo! But I'm also like, you know? I like the result of that. Overall I think, "that year went by so quickly". Anyway, these pictures are from the annual ladies Christmas Tea at church (where I always drink hot cocoa ;)) If you want to look at the whole year click here. Or you can view them individually here:

Believe it or not, though it's just the 9th, Christmas festivities and activities are all systems go. We've been busy, busy, busy as always. I do wish I had more time to blog. And I'm itching for a new look around this place, but these days I just seem to be asking, "where has the time gone?". I will try to make an effort to get more posts up in the coming days, though.

Also, just wanted to let you know that I took some time to reply to the recent questions in the comment section. So, if you've asked a question, be sure to check for an answer! And if you asked a question and I forgot to answer, feel free to ask again please!

5 on 5: november

I'm back with my November 5 on 5 today! I thought it would be neat to take some pictures to show how the lanscape is looks lately in comparison with October's 5 on 5. It seemed that the trees lost their leaves overnight. All it took was a chilly day and a bit of wind. So... outside looks pretty monochromatic. The bare branches jut out against the sky which appears equally as void of color as the grass. The sprouting wheat fields look out of place with their greeness.

It's funny how, now, the "newness" of the sight of all this is exciting, but I know by the middle of December I'll be aching for some sunshine. In the meantime, though, I'm looking forward to pulling out that puffy winter coat, slipping on those fuzzy gloves, mixing up some more hot chocolate -- not to mention Thanksgiving! Christmas! and all that comes with those holidays. :)

xoxo,
haley

P.S. Guess what, you guys?! I'm guest posting on the Boyer Family Singers' blog today! Go check the post out here and give their lovely blog a follow!

5 on 5: october

Ever heard of a post being a month+ late? Hah. Well, this one is. October was a rather slow blogging month for me and I never did get my 5 on 5 posted. But with only two more months to go until this project is over... I didn't want to skip a month now.

So, here's five pictures from October... (I just love fall).

Most of these are of that brilliant yellow tree, just a small walk away from our house. I had eyed it for awhile, then decided I better go photograph it. ;) I'm so glad I did, though. Overnight, the leaves seemingly vanished from the branches.

...

November's 5 on 5 coming soon! xoxo.

5 on 5: september + teeth cleaning style

^^awkward outfit photo poses ;)^^

Shirt: hand-me-down (originally American Eagle)
Shorts: Aeropostal
Shoes: Sperry's
Headscarf: Thrifted
Necklace & Earrings: Target

Hello everyone! I'm back today with yesterday's 5 on 5 and the outfit I wore today. This morning I woke up at 6am to get ready to leave for dentist appointments (yay! no cavities!), therefore, this is a very real-life outfit. ;) Just a simple v-neck with a tank, some shorts, and Sperry's. I added the necklace, earrings, and headscarf to make it look a little more put-together.

September's 5 on 5....

independence day || 5 on 5: july

Five on Five, July

July fourth & fifth

A little DIY & outfit

shirt, old navy || shorts, cut-offs || belt, thrifted || headband, scrap of a bandana || flip flops, target

Picture overload much? I'm combining a few posts into one.

These are the promised pictures of the fourth of July. We had two celebrations. One the fourth and one on the fifth.  First off is this month's 5 on 5. (A little late, again...but, better late than never.) The second batch  of photos include some family photos and both the fourth and fifth's fireworks.

Lastly, I got some jeans (Target's Mossimo brand) at Goodwill to experiment with cut-offs. First I tried the jeans on, then took a permanent marker (in hindsight I would have used something washable) and marked where I wanted to make the first cut (starting just above my knee), then went from there, marking and cutting until I had them the length I wanted them.

Note: If you lay the jeans flat, cut one pant leg the desired length, then fold them in half, it gives you a nice guide for the other pant leg.

Then, I washed them to get a nice fray around the edge. I wore that outfit on the fourth of July (notice the blue headband/bandana and red nails ;)).

Hope you all had a great fourth! How did you celebrate? xo.

It feels like I haven't posted in forever. Well, it hasn't been forever. It really hasn't even been that long.

These days my room is messy, the dates in my journal have large(ish) gaps between them, books go unread -- but life goes on. I'm enjoying going and doing.

I'll probably be back to regular posting soon, in the meantime here's this month's 5 on 5. xo.
