good job, little sis.

Today we were looking through recent pictures. We came across a picture Little sis had taken. Wow. It was amazing. (By the way, the purple background is from Picnik's auto-fix, but the original looks great also!)

I told her how absolutely amazing it was. She said, "It's just a picture." I asked her if she could give me the rights to it. She said no, but she did say I could post it.

Would you like to see it?? Ok. Here it is.

Ya, I told you it was good.

Now leave her a comment telling her how great it is.

Good job, Little sis ♥

craft room curtains.

Happy Thursday, everyone! First off, Mom's camera is "out of order" at the moment, so I'm using my point-and-shoot (as I have for the last few posts). That's why the pictures will look different ;)

This afternoon, with the help of my Grandma, I made curtains for our craft room. Re-doing the craft room is one of my 4-H projects - home environment. Mom and I have lots of plans for the room, but we decided to start with the curtains. Would you like to see how Grandma and I did it??

Supplies:
Two curtain panels, fun trim, sewing machine, scissors, straight pins,
a bobbin threaded with white and white thread.

{step no. 1} Measure and mark your curtains to the length you want. Cut carefully.

{step no. 2} Press hem into place and secure with pins. Then sew along the edge.

Then after you have the actual curtains where you need them, comes the fun (and tricky) part...adding trim. The trim we used (more like fringe actually) was very stretchy and slippery when sewing.

{step no. 3} Pin trim along edge of curtain.

This is what I had my machine's stitches set on.

{step no. 4} Carefully sew trim onto curtain.

{step no. 5} Hang them up

We are thinking of tying them back with ribbon.

Your thoughts??

be amazed.

For awhile there was a huge storm every night of the week. We were at my Grandpa's house and there was one. after it 'passed over', out came the camera.

Now - since PhotoShop and Picnik - I have to tell you: These pictures are completely untouched by an editing program. Completely. Ok? That's how amazing the sky was. I did not do anything to them. I just thought you should know that, in order for you to be properly 'amazed' ;)

This is the best part...

father's day 2011.

Well, as you all know (obviously), yesterday was Father's Day! Yay! Of course I have pictures of the day to share, so here you go ;)

There were cards. (Oh, and a little confession. I bought a card. That's right. I bought it. Not that buying cards isn't good. I just usually make one. But this one was perfect. I had to get it. Homemade, or...not.)

Little sis made some great waffles. Delicious.

Then there was church and Sunday afternoon naps.

And for Dad's 'gift' I made him chocolate chip cookies with black walnuts.

Later that evening Little sis, Dad and I headed over to his work to clean up his office. (That's what he wanted to do for Father's Day :D). There was a storm on the way, as you can see.

Self-portrait in the mirror.

The before...(above).

And the after...

And on the way home, we stopped at Dairy Queen for some mini blizzards. Dad = turtle pecan, Addy = brownie batter, me = double fudge cookie dough...in case you were wondering ;)

What did you do this Father's Day?

a little bit awesome.

Well, first off...Happy Father's Day, Dad!

(Leaves to make a heart?? Yes, yes?? No??)

Every year in our little town a big "festival" There's a parade, food venders, carnivals, etc. We didn't do much this year...except our tradition, which is roasted corn.

As you get closer and closer to the tent, you can feel the heat coming from the roaster.

I decided I would be bold and take a picture of this guy, ignoring all the odd stares from people in line behind me. This guy needed to be documented. He's there every year. Every. year. I'm tellin' ya. Every. year. It's never someone else. It's always him. Always.

He always wears those earrings too. True. True.

Then after you get your corn, he dips the tip in butter and it runs down the sides. Then you go over and sprinkle as many spices as you want on it. I mean, this guy, has the biggest bottle of Lawry's Seasoning Salt I've ever seen.

Addy with her corn.

Even though it's a tradition, I wasn't about to eat corn and be sneezing all day. So I spotted this big sign across the road from the roasted corn tent. Thelma's Frozen Lemonade. I may have traded corn for corn syrup. Oh well. It was good.

Yum.

It was great.
